Blog 3:The connected Educator

Johnson talks about preparing beginning teachers to engage in disciplinary literacy or ways of knowing in a discipline. We've established from earlier articles that teaching means life learning for the one doing the teacher. New teachers as well as old seasoned ones has to continually improve upon their knowledge to ensure they bring the most update knowledge to their students.

Today's class repesentation focused on professional development networks and why they are important. The group gave a kicker presentation about networking and social media as an educational tool.

What really stood out for is the network my group researched on. here's a link to EdWeb - Connect and Collaborate with Colleagues in Education

I have registered for presentations and webinars myself after the class presentation and have enjoyed every single one. The presentor's are quite knowledgeable and come with a rich wealth of experience for others. The certitifcate for attendance is an added enrichment to each individual's portfolio. A great tool to use.
